Alvin Walker has been senior pastor of Freedom Baptist Church since May 1, 2004. He is a second generation Baptist pastor. He married Brenda Burnett while they were students at Wayland Baptist University and they have three grown children and 7 grand children. Alvin and Brenda have served churches in Texas and were appointed As Foreign Missionaries to Brazil in 1981 where they served until 1990. Our desire is to fulfill the great commission in this place. This church body is a family, “Loving God and Loving People”. Our goal is to build a church that encourages long-term relationships and to be a congregation where each of us is a part of something much bigger than ourselves. A place where everyone can be a part of something that is meaningful, lasting and ETERNAL! Pray that we will be sensitive to God’s Spirit. We believe that the time for Christ’s return is drawing near. Love one another. Be true followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. Love God and Love People! In My Lord’s Service.
…Loving God, Loving People
We will demonstrate our love for God by knowing and obeying His Word.
(John 14:15 - If you love me, keep my commands., 2 Timothy 2:15 - Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.)
Worship: Worshipping God in Spirit and in truth will be our top priority both corporately and personally.
Fellowship: Fellowship of the church and the needs of believers will be second only to worship in priority.
(1 John 1:6-7)
Discipleship: We will submit to God’s plan to make us like Christ. (Romans 8:29)
We will be known as a people of prayer. (Acts 2:42, Mathew 21:13)
Ministry: We will tenderly restore damaged brothers and sisters and lovingly bind their wounds.
Missions: We will learn and practice lifestyle evangelism to individually fulfill the great commission.
